" In 2014, I begin thinking about a new project triggered by the book “Formation” by the French writer Pierre Guyotat.
At the time when I was reading “Formation”, for several years I had already undertaken a reflection on the education of the artist, with representatives of other disciplines, and I experiment on a daily basis with the power of being a satellite around the field of education.
This tangent consists of personal legacy - country, language, education, culture, ones’ story... - and what one lives in the present. I have in mind the image of tectonic plates that will collide in a more or less idle shock!
Every life is a long stretch, a sort of perseverance that invents itself endlessly with its slow accelerations, its peaks and blazing crystallizations, its falls also.
Each body is a permanent archaeology whose strata (physical, sensory, emotional, cognitive) play between each other, inform and complement each other.
It is this permanent (trans)formation that this project sets in motion.
On stage, four characters / four generations: a very young girl, a young man, a mature man, an elderly woman.
I proposed to visual artist Nicolas Floc'h imagining a space, a device that can metamorphose these notions of perseverance, accelerations, efforts, falls.
Each generation will meet, interpret, dance this space in which resonate excerpts from Pierre Guyotat’s opuses, ‘Formation’ and ‘Le Livre’.
The spatial device, the texts and the bodies interpret what takes place in the formation: the slow impregnation, the powerful mutations that are in us and structure us, the accelerated inscription an event by an image, a sound, a smell, an emotion.
The notion of formation is inseparable from a singular context. The staging of the dynamics that alternate taming/emancipation is the heart of the sensitive fabrication of this project.
Thus, Pierre Guyotat’s text, its materiality of sound and sense contribute to the staging of this dynamism.
