Comissioned by the festival Wiener Festwochen, Emmanuelle Huynh is currently working on the musical piece Kraanerg by greek composer Iannis Xenakis whose century is celebrated this year.
The work was originally created in 1968 for 23 instruments and a 4-track magnetic tape.
Kraanerg - title which is a compound of two Greek words - stands for the hopes of the youth movement at the time, rising up to bring about change in the prevailing political, social and ideological systems.
Under the musical direction of Sylvain Cambreling, the musical ensemble Klangforum Wien unleashes its dense mass of sound, loud and furious.
For this stage version, Emmanuelle Huynh has collaborated closely with the set and light designer Caty Olive, the dancers Jérôme Andrieu, Elodie Cottet, Théo Le Bruman, Lucie Collardeau, Catherine Legrand and the musicologists Makis Solomos and Benoît Gibson.
Together, they tend toward the vision of Xenakis of a total work of art.
